Cosmetic Blemish Removal FAQ's
1. How do I know if I am suitable for Cosmetic Blemish Removal?
It is generally safe for most people to undergo Cosmetic Blemish Removal. However, prior to any non-surgical treatment, we request that our clients attend an initial consultation to discuss their medical history, to ensure any moles or skin-tags are benign and can be safely removed, and to discuss expected results and aftercare.
2. I am on medication can I still have this treatment?
There are certain medications that won’t suit this treatment therefore you would need to discuss this with us prior to booking. Treatments for moles or those where medication is uncertain may require a note from your doctor.
3. What actually happens in Cosmetic Blemish Removal?
Cosmetic Blemish Procedures uses Thermolysis current and a very fine needle which creates heat to cauterise blood vessels and or lift away skin blemishes quickly and easily, and any remaining blood supply is quickly and neatly sealed off to ensure complete removal or destruction of the lesion with minimal skin tissue damage. A review is then booked 6-8 weeks after treatment, pre and post photos are always taken for reference.
4. What does the treatment feel like?
The discomfort is determined on the type of lesion, where it is located and the size. Clients generally describe the treatment as mildly uncomfortable, with a slight pinprick of heat or a warm stinging sensation which they find to be easily tolerable.
5. How long does it take to achieve results?
Results can be seen in as little as one treatment.
6. How long do the effects of Cosmetic Blemish Removal Procedures last?
Results are permanent, although with the treatment of thread veins, this will not stop new veins occurring if you tend to be at risk. However, your practitioner can advise on how to avoid new veins appearing.
7. Is there any down time?
Downtime is determined by the type of lesion to be treated and the location. It is advisable not to have minor cosmetics treatment prior to any special occasions, as with some lesions you may experience slight redness, swelling and tenderness and require a healing period. However, if necessary, the treatment area will be dressed to minimise rubbing of clothing and bedding.
